Abraham Ancer was born on 27 February 1991 in McAllen, Texas, U.S. He is the son of María Verónica Sagastegui and Abraham Ancer.

Ancer attended  Sharyland High School and  Odessa College, where he played college golf. He then graduated with a degree in General Science from the University of Oklahoma. He had a successful amateur career during his first year of university life, winning twice. Ancer had been ranking in the second position during almost his entire amateur career.

Professional Career

Abraham Ancer began his professional career in 2013. In 2015, he played on the Web.com Tour, where he won the Nova Scotia Open and was the runner-up of the Brasil Champions. He finished at Top 15 for the FedEx St. Jude Classic during his rookie year as a PGA Tour athlete. He later went to the Web.com Tour for his poor performance in PGA Tour.

Ancer was placed ninth at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba, eighth at the Houston Open, fourth at the Quicken Loans National, fifth at the RBC Canadian Open, and seventh at the Dell Technologies Championship during the 2018 season. He earned entry to his first major championship, the  2018 Open Championship. Ancer finished 60th in the FedEx Cup during his PGA season.
