Davis Riley was born on December 17, 1996, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, U.S. He played golf at Presbyterian Christian School and later at Alabama.
Riley was a magnificent amateur golfer. In his high school career, he won the Mississippi State title for four straight years. In 2015, he was named All-USA Boys Golf Player of the Year by USA Today.
He also appeared in the final of the U.S. Junior Amateur two years in a row, joining Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth as the only golfers to do so.
In 2015, Riley joined Alabama and played college golf. He was ranked the best collegiate golfer in the country entering his junior season.
