Nick Taylor was born on April 14, 1988, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and raised in Abbotsford, British Columbia. He started playing golf when he was ten years old.

Nick attended the University of Washington. At 19 in 2007, he won the  Canadian Amateur Championship. Nick was tied for the second position at the  2008 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship. He qualified for the  U.S. Open in 2008. He then got qualified for the 2009 U.S. Open.

Nick was a former PGA Tour Canada player from 2011 to 2013, with 10 top-10 finishes. In 2013, he qualified for the Web.com Tour qualifying school, where he finished 11. He finished 23rd in the Web.com Tour Finals and qualified for the 2014-15 PGA Tour.

His first victory on the PGA tour was at the  Sanderson Farms Championship held at Country Club of Jackson. In seven years, he was the Canadian-born player to win this after Mike Weir. He qualified for the 2015 PGA Championship and tied for the 68th position. During the 2014-15 season, he played in 28 events with two top-25 finishes and one win.

Nick earned his second victory during the 2019–20 PGA Tour season at the  AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He played a total of 18 events with 3 top-25 finishes. The PGA Tour season 2020-21 was not that remarkable seasons for him. He played at  28 events with 4 top-25 finishes.

Nick grabbed his third win during the 2022–23 PGA Tour season at the  RBC Canadian Open. Since 1954, he was the first Canadian citizen and the first Canadian-born person to win the country’s national open.
