Coody played college golf at the University of Texas for the Texas Longhorns men’s golf team from 2018-2022. He earned All-American honors and helped the Longhorns win the 2022 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship. In the individual title, he finished runner-up after a playoff defeat to Gordon Sargent.
